ST. CLOUD - Faster internet speeds are coming to Spectrum subscribers in Central Minnesota. Charter Communications, Inc. announced Tuesday the launch of Spectrum Internet Gig with speeds up to 940 Mbps.
Kimberly Noetzel, senior communications manager with Charter, said the new service will appeal to businesses and residential customers who stream online content and participate in online gaming.
"A lot of streaming, gamers, people who are using multiple devices," Noetzel said.
The new service is priced at $104.99 per month for new residential customers and has no data caps or contracts. The residential service includes a modem and free in-home Wi-Fi.
"Our flagship speed, which is our starting entry-level speed, is 200 (Mbps). Then we have an ultra-tier which will go to 400 (Mbps). Then we have this gig launch which is brand new," Noetzel said.
Spectrum Business Internet Gig service starts at $249.99 per month and includes a modem, customer Wi-Fi, custom domain and email addresses, cloud backup and desktop security software at no additional charge.
