Benton Economic Partnership Assisting with Crucial Airport Study

17 Sep 2018

The Benton Economic Partnership is playing a vital role in a study that could reshape the future of the St. Cloud Regional Airport, and increase its economic impact on the region. Right now, the airport is controlled by the city of St. Cloud. Residents pay a higher percentage of their taxes to help operate it. But there is a push to shift control of the airport to a larger operating body: a regional authority made up of representatives from Stearns, Benton and Sherburne counties.

The study is an in-depth look at how best to bring more business to the airport, and whether shifting control to a regional authority could help make that a reality. The study is scheduled to be completed by September. The Benton Economic Partnership is serving in an advisory role on a multi-faceted committee that is providing feedback and guidance as the study continues. Click here for more information.
