Rising Again: New Hope for the Future of the Verso Paper Mill Site

There’s new hope for the site of the old Verso paper mill in Sartell, Minnesota. The Benton Economic Partnership is part of the team working to redevelop the site and bring it to life again. A task force has analyzed the area and concluded that it is best suited as an industrial development. But the city is open to other possible uses, if a developer presents a viable plan.
The paper mill operated for more than 100 years before an explosion and fire shut it down in 2012. Verso was the second-largest employer in Sartell at the time.
