Med-tech company moves HQ to Twin Cities, raises $58M

Medical-device company Relievant Medsystems has closed on $58 million in venture capital and will move its headquarters to the Twin Cities.
The headquarters relocation comes a few months after the company — which was previously based in Sunnyvale, Calif. — tapped Twin Cities executive Kevin Hykes to serve as its CEO. At the time, Relievant said it would explore opening a Twin Cities office.
The company will open its headquarters at Normandale Lakes in Bloomington this summer, Hykes said. Relievant has less than 10 employees here today, but Hykes expects it could employ up to 20 in the Twin Cities within the next 12 months. Relievant has about 40 employees nationwide.
