As colder weather quickly approaches, the Stearns History Museum is offering a packed schedule of events to help families have fun indoors and get in the holiday spirit.

The museum's events through the end of the year range from history talks to child-friendly classes, providing learning experiences across a range of subjects.

Waite Park Car Shops

As part of its "Breakfast Club" series, the history museum will host its "Secrets of the Waite Park Car Shops" next month, which will explore Waite Park's past role in building boxcars and cabooses for the Great Northern Railway, as the town used to house many railcar manufacturing plants. The event will explore the industry's history through old photos and why the plants shut down in the 1980s. The event, which is free for members and $7 for non-members, will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Nov. 13 at the Stearns History Museum, located at 235 33rd Ave S. in St. Cloud.
